The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), New Delhi will hold the Indian Economic Service (IES) Recruitment Examination 2022 and Indian Statistical Service Examination 2022 for recruitment of Junior Time Scale Economic/Statistical Officer Government Jobs Vacancy posts under the Indian Economic Service (IES) of Ministry of Finance, Department of Economic Affairs and Indian Statistical Service (ISS) of Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation commencing from 24th June 2022.
About Indian Economic/Statistical Service Examination 2022
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is solely responsible for issuing guidelines for selection and the final conduct of the annual Indian Economic/Statistical Service Examination. Qualification to Join Central Government Economic Services 2022 is a Post-Graduate Degree in Economics/Applied Economics/Business Economics/ Econometrics from a recognized University and for Statistical Service Exam the minimum qualification is and the maximum age for this recruitment examination is 30 years.
Online applications in the prescribed format are invited for the Indian Economic/Statistical Service Exam 2022 by UPSC from suitable candidates for Group-A Economic/Statistical Officer Government Jobs (Advertisement No.07/2022-IES/ISS).
The recruitment examination will be held at various centres across the country in accordance with the Rules published by the Ministry of Finance (Dept. of Economic Affairs) and the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation.

- Economic Officer: 24 vacancies thru Indian Economic Service Examination 2022, Age Limit: Candidates must not have attained the age of 21-30 years as of 1st August 2022. Relaxation in the upper age limit as per Govt. of India rules, Qualification: a Post-Graduate Degree in Economics/Applied Economics/Business Economics/ Econometrics from a recognized University.
- Statistical Officer: 29 vacancies thru the Indian Statistical Service Examination 2022, Age Limit: Candidates must not have attained the age of 21-30 years as of 1st August 2022. Relaxation in the upper age limit as per Govt. of India rules, Qualification: a Bachelor’s Degree with Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Applied Statistics as one of the subjects or a Master’s degree in Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Applied Statistics from a recognized University.
- Pay Scale: ₹56100-177500/-
Online Application Fee
₹200/- to be paid in any branch of SBI by cash or by using the Net Banking facility of SBI or using Visa/ Master Credit / Debit Card. SC/ ST/ PH/ Women candidates are exempted from payment of fees. OBC candidates are required to pay full fees.
Withdrawal of Application
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has introduced the facility of withdrawal of applications for those candidates who do not want to appear for the Examination. The online Applications can be withdrawn from 04/05/2022 to 10/05/2022 for Indian Economic Service Recruitment Exam 2022. UPSC has no provision to refund any fee amount paid by candidates, so in case of successful withdrawal of application, the fees will not be refunded.
