About UGC NET Application Form 2024

The National Testing Agency (NTA), established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD), serves as a premier, specialist, autonomous, and self-sustained testing organization. It conducts entrance examinations for admission and fellowship in higher educational institutions.

On 18th June 2024, NTA, on behalf of UGC, will administer the National Eligibility Test (NET) to ascertain the eligibility of Indian nationals for Assistant Professor roles or both Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor positions for the year 2024 onwards. Additionally, NET serves as an admission test for Ph.D. programs in 83 various subjects.

The award of JRF and Eligibility for Assistant Professor, or solely Eligibility for Assistant Professor, hinges on the candidate’s performance in both NET papers. However, candidates qualifying exclusively for Assistant Professor are not considered for the JRF award.

Candidates qualifying for Assistant Professor are subject to the recruitment rules and regulations of the concerned universities, colleges, or state governments.

NTA will conduct the next UGC NET on 18th June 2024 in the OMR (Pen & Paper) mode. The test comprises two papers with 50 and 100 questions, totaling 100 and 200 marks, respectively.
